accessing wiring harness in center console (Page 1/1)

Could anyone point me towards a guide for removing this black plastic peice located under the center console

You need to keep going, the whole heater/radio console surround has to come off first.
It's all pretty logical. Just be careful removing the skeleton as it is very brittle and breaks easily.
Worst part is probably disconnecting the bowden cable that connects the heater control to the heater mix valve from underneath the heater control as on mine at least, that cable is barely long enough to get enough play to pull the thing out so you can get at it.

I will second the "be careful" you can snap, crackle and pop that framework super easy and quick.. Not hard work, just exact and careful work...

It helps to remove the console cradle in a warm/hot environment. In a very cold environment plastic become more brittle. Best to remove that piece in the summer sun or in a well heated garage.
