87 SE 2.5L
Added GT cluster without oil pressure gauge. Added aftermarket mechanical oil pressure gauge. Is there any reason to not delete the sender?------------------ 87 coupe stroked 4 cyl, 5 speed

Your sender has three wires, correct?
If so, the wire functions are as follows: 1 wire: electrical oil pressure gauge 2 wires: fuel pump relay backup
If your sender has three wires, then you'll lose the fuel pump relay backup feature.

Most people when they wire in a high flow fuel pump, bypass the oil pressure sensor anyway and just use the ECM triggered relay with a more direct power source (that is the way my LS4 is setup).
It also makes it easy to know when the relay goes back and the Fiero carries a built in spare with the AC relay.
So no issue with removing the stock oil pressure sending unit if you are running an aftermarket gauge.

I usually keep the oil.switch/fuel pump back-up circuit in my harnesses. If I do delete it, I use a new, modern relay rather than the 30+ year old stock Fiero relay.
