Hi gang. I'm swapping a 3800 Series ll into an 88 and am wondering what to do with heater hoses. On previous swaps I've always drilled and tapped the hole in the LIM and installed a brass fitting, in fact I've used brass shutoff that I got from a heavy equipment mechanic that allowed me to close the system completely which helped keep cabin temp down in the hot summer months but I digress. I'm wondering if there's an alternative to the whole drilling and tapping thing. I do have the proper NPT tap although I can no longer tell what size it is which makes it difficult to know what size drill I need. I also assume that the drill would be pretty spendy so I'm hoping to avoid buying one altogether. Also wondering what has been done to block off the return heater hose inlet since this is an 88 as mentioned.
Thanks DF

A 3/4" tap will work on the LIM without drilling, also works on the front cover to tap the holes for the elbows to plug them. Run the return line to the passenger side under-car coolant line, there is already a nipple there. This also works on the 87's.
