Dangling insulation under car? / Tail light question (Page 1/1)
chaotichamster9 OCT 30, 09:33 PM
I was inspecting my Fiero last night (88 GT model V6 auto trans) and noticed what appears to be insulation of some type dangling near the center underneath. Could anyone identify what this may be? I’m attaching a photo. It looks like it may be covering a hose running beside the gas tank? Can this be replaced and if so where can I get the pieces needed?

Also on a side note, I’ve noticed the “P” in Pontiac in the rear taillight is going dim, can anyone tell me the bulb # so I can fix that real quick? Thanks!Underneath photo

Likely Heater loop plumbing under car. Try pushing back on then maybe tape to help stay on.

2 light run Pontiac. 1 bulb for each ½.
So One letter is likely not a bad bulb.
Pull the lens assem to check more things including what "bulb" is in there now. From factory I think should be 194 but can't find my notes.

Sorry, but there are 4 bulbs on 'PONTIAC', two on each side.

If you wish to splurge, you can get these brighter bulbs for that location from Rodney Dickman... and yes, there are four of them.

4 bulbs then maybe 1 bulb or socket is bad.
Sorry didn't look at GT rear light wiring in awhile.

OE is 194 3.8w I think (Most catalogs don't have this "logo bulb" listed. Fiero Markers and Tag lights are 194.)
RD Bright bulb is likely 168 4.9w available at most parts/retail stores locally.

If GT lenses are starting to de-laminate then hotter bulbs won't help. Is bad enough gets heat UV pollution from sun etc. Taillights have hidden drain holes let air ozone in the lenses. PA's Code Orange and other pollution warnings are not just hard to breath for people and animals.
