86 V6 4 speed 112k miles. Owned it since april this year.
It idles erratically and drops rpms when warmed up and stopped at red lights.
I already replaced the IAC and EGR (which both looked to be untouched and in bad shape, but no change). I can't imagine its a vacuum leak since it drops rpms. I was thinking of replacing the MAP sensor next...
Is there another thread on a similar problem or any insight into this? I want to move on to tires and suspension, but not trying to spend money til I fix the engine light.
Any help is appreciated. I almost wanted to sell it early one when I replaced the IAC and it did nothing, but i figure I can hang on to it and keep trying for years to come.

I also don't know exact RPMs, but it does sound close to stalling so I figure it is dropping rpms that causes the SES light to come on. Gauge doesnt work and I havnt got a diagnostic tool yet so sorry about that. I see most people with code 35 have high idles... I also had thought it was my brake booster maybe, while holding the brakes it would drop RPM but I tried driving and stopping in traffic with just the cable brake and same problem.

One more symptom. I can smell fuel and it seems to be running rich. I could have sworn the EGR valve was the problem. Maybe its something else with the EGR system? I am not the smartest when it comes to car parts and their functions.
Again any help is appreciated. I was real excited to put a new EGR valve on only to see its the same. Still got to fuel it up and drive a couple miles though. Hard to stop driving it once I get going.

1. Check the VSS on the transmission. Make sure the contacts are clean. 2. Check on fuel pressure, both running and after the engine is turned off.
