Headlamp isolator relay (Page 1/1)

Hey Fiends,
I did some checking of my isolator relay for head lamp function and found that
I had low voltage on the supply, from the headlight switch between the white and black wires
of 10 volts. Continuity possible between the switch and the plug for this relay.
Checking the switch tomorrow. The yellow and black wires showed 12 volts.
Not sure but this could cause this relay to not function properly.
As tight is this location of the iso relay thinking about relocating this inboard of the wall where the
round plug that seals the factory wire loom.
I think I should be able to pull these wires out of the loom as to where it goes through the outer wall and
remount at a more favorable location.
What do yall think? Thanks, Kevin

F'd Volts to whatever then back up a bit...
First check grounds near both HL. HL bulbs and motors and a lot more uses these 2 ground points.
At minimum clean to bare metal and lube w/ silicone or brake grease.
Then check whatever part(s) again.

Measuring volts connected to frame make sure you have clean frame metal for neg probe.

ok cleaned grounds both sides.
it is strange that I can use a jumper at the plugs and it
goes up and down but not with a new relay.
I guess I need a new headlamp switch

I used this one from Amazon. Seems to be well made and solved a problem I had blowing the fuse if I pushed the old one in too slowly.
Standard Motor Products DS-294 Headlight Switch It is all black, though. Does not have the grey portion.

No need to relocate it, seldom do they go bad.
