My 4t80 computer is sending the command to change to 2nd but the trans has an error that won't allow it. I can manually shift to 2nd so it has the gear. One of those controllers, can they be used to bypass the factory controller I wonder? Or is it going to do the same electronic command that my trans will ignore? What about tap shifters?

My 4t60e only had third gear unless I manually shifted into 2. I had no 1st and 4th. It was burnt up solenoids. I replaced the trans and now with the controller, I have "paddle" shift only. Its actually a rocker switch, but same concept as the steering wheel mounts shifters.
