Anyone know the size of the core plug on the belt side of the cylinder head on the 2.5? I grabbed an assortment and none of them fit properly so I'm guessing it's some oddball size. I've been using rubber expanding plugs but I'd like to do it right already. I have a Pontiac 301 in a different car which has this same odd core plug size, damn Pontiac.
Second question is should I install the plug dry or use some sort of sealer?

don't know size...
Just before install... Coat freeze plugs and hole w/ thin coat of paint sealer like permatex high tack or super300 to seal small gaps between plug and block/head. Don't use RTV silicone or anything like it. best is let it set for a day minimum before filling w/ coolant to allow sealer drying time.
note that 1 bad plug often means others are bad but just haven't failed outright. Plugs Can rot outside in, inside out or both. inside out is because of crap coolant like is old and rust protection is gone to people using weak coolant or just water. See my Cave, Coolant Fill
