Whether it's paint or powder coating, do you mask the V6 valve cover edges prior, or do you just sand the edges off afterwards?

I stripped mine with aircraft stripper. Scuffed them. Straight block sanded the highlighted top surface. Taped off the highlights and trimmed with a razor blade. Painted the red. Untapped then. Clear coated with gloss engine clear. [img]

first time around i opted for a polished look.

second time, i wanted to preserve the fiero decal, i believe i taped off just the thick 'fin' where the decal was, the rest i just sanded off after. most of the plenum's i've had my hands on need the non-painted parts cleaned up more than the painted parts. so they were were going to get sanded or polished either way
