87 Adjustable front suspension (Page 1/1)

Hi Guys
So i want to make the front end suspension of my 87 fiero adjustable. I have a lambo kit on it and the body sits too low.
Do i need to go with a coilover system with tubular A-arms? I just need to raise it 1-1/2 inches. I called WCF and was told i need to know exact how much of drop or lift i need else it will not work. I just got confused.
I thought the whole idea of the adjustable coilover shocks/spring is to address that right? I'm not a suspension guy so please educate me.
Where else can I get the coil over system besides WCF?

WCF website says he will build a coilover system for extra money but I do not see any pics. If you are doing a kit car you might want the longer arms to get the wheels out a bit. But with QA1 or other coilovers you pick the coilover shock you want and then buy the spring that fits the shock. You want about 4" of travel on the shock and with a QA1 shock of that travel you can only use a 9" or 10" by 2.5" ID spring in whatever rate you want. Then you can go up or down quite a bit. Another way to do it is to use stock springs with an adjustable perch. Look up Blacktree's thread in the construction zone he did this and lots of pics in his how to. Somewhere in the last 3 pages I think.

If you just need to raise it, you could remove the springs, measure them and get some that are a little longer.

You could also install some spring spacers on the top of the current springs to raise it up as well.

If you want a lower cost adjustable setup, you could fabricate something like this:
