Can someone confirm if this is correct way to install?
Fat side of rubber pipe connecting to evap line on passenger side. Skinny metal pipe with orifice with metal valve and oring inserted first.
I have replaced dryer, orifice, orings. Compressor is 6 years old and worked fine before a shop clutch replacement when they disconnected the lines Will pull vacuum on low/high side and maintain. I can get 2/3rd can sucked in with lot of effort, and thats it. It short cycles. If i jumper the cycling switch, the bottom half of evap line is frozen. Icing at the evap/orifce junction and nowhere else. Dryer is hot. I can blow air through the evap with no issue.
Where is my restriction? Is the suction side of the compressor failing?

1985-1988 Fiero, tube is in front compartment below the accumulator, in this orientation:

Orifice tube is inserted holding the long end, short end (outlet) is inserted into the tube (blue arrow)

This what's confusing everyone I've asked on fb. Which side of that orifice filter goes into the tube first?

Okay yep that's how I had them installed. It gets frozen right after the orifice filter connects to the evap line and nowhere else. I can barely get one can to suction in. When running the low pressure climbs high and the high pressure doesn't seem to budge. Seems like an obstruction or compressor suction isn't working anymore.
Any ideas? Cuz I thought this was the smoking gun.
