Has anyone replaced a 2.8L V6 camshaft with engine in car?
So far I have pulled the timing chain cover, and about ready to get a puller for removing the timing gear on the crank.
It looks like I will have to lower the cradle down at the back, pivoting at the front cradle bolts, to give me enough clearance to pull the camshaft from the block.
Does this sound like it will work?
Thanks.[This message has been edited by hdryder (edited 08-10-2019).]

I don't think there is enough room to pull the shaft out while the engine is in the car-It is very tight.

I haven't done that with a V6, but did with a Duke. You'll need to hinge the cradle down, so the camshaft can exit via the wheel well. And of course, you'll need to move stuff out of the wheel well to make room.
You'll need to hinge the cradle down quite a bit, so stuff like coolant pipes, fuel lines, etc may still need to be disconnected. Just FYI.[This message has been edited by Blacktree (edited 08-10-2019).]

I did many, many years ago when a new camshaft had a lobe flatten out. I also tilted the cradle, like Blacktree did with his 4-cyl. Not pleasant job, but I did not want to pull the engine again.
