Is there a trick to prepping the hood and deck lids that stop the paint from bubbling up? My body shop does a lot with Corvettes but is having trouble with my Fiero. Apparently the material is not the same.

The hood and decklid are SMC. It should be the same as many corvette panels. Water in the fibers is most likely the cause of bubbling paint, so dry out the part extremely well before applying anything. If the paint bubbles within days of the application, there is stripper, or rattle-can paint in the part, and you may as well throw it away and get a new one.

When I said 'new' I meant 'junkyard'. By this time all Fiero body panels have been used.
