Hello,
I have just recently purchased an 87 Fiero GT, and i have just found out that none of my brake lights, running lights, or turn signals are working on my rear clusters. I initially thought it was a grounding issue, but after seeing the ECM, i think there might be an issue there as well. The ECM looks like the plastic housing has melted. I unplugged it and cleaned the connections the best i could, but with no luck. Wondering if i can just cut the ground out from the ECM and ground it in the engine bay, or if i need to see about getting a new ECM.
Thanks for any help

Not sure why you are talking about the ECM....The engine computer has zero to do with your brake lights- or any lights except the Check engine light. This car is basically straight wiring except the engine itself- which is isolated from the rest of the electrical system....

Yup ECM has nothing to do w/ taillights. Plus ECM has a metal case between seats in the console.
No Taillights are way different problems like blown fuse and whats causing that, bad ground hidden by body, and/or any/all sockets.------------------ Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should. How do I get to the ground for that cluster?

taillight ground is under the body. Pull screws holding right rear inner fender to the body and look at frame above that.
