Adding a sunroof to a non sunroof fiero (Page 1/3)

What exactly would I need to do this besides the sunroof and gasket? I don't see replacing the entire roof panel as an option since there are none in the local area, and nobody seems willing to ship one.

Aftermarket sun roofs are typically cut into the existing roof but IIRC the cutout outline may be already there on the Fiero coupes.

I'm trying to add an actual fiero sunroof to a fiero that doesn't have one, not an aftermarket one. I know the hole will habe to be cut, bit I don't know what elae I would need beside the donor sunroof.

No hole needs to be cut. From the factory, all Fieros have the "hole" in the metal roof already.

You need a sunroof skin, headliner, glass panel and all associated hardware.

Again, I'm not changing the entire roof panel, so I dont see how a hole would not need to be cut. Also, the " associated hardware" is what I'm not sure about.

If you want a factory Fiero sunroof installation, you need a roof panel from a sunroof-equipped Fiero.

The roof panel in a sunroof Fiero is physically different; it has molded-in channels around the sunroof opening. Cutting a hole in a solid Fiero roof panel does not yield an equivalent result.

I'd suggest delaying the sunroof project until you find a donor car (junkyard, or someone doing a part-out).

When you find a donor car, drive out there and grab everything.

Have a look at page 329 of the Fiero P-Book to better understand the "associated hardware":

It would be a good idea to download this document for future reference.

There is also some hardware under the front hood for stowage of the glass; don't forget to grab that too.

Also, does anyone know the dimensions of the factory fiero sunroof?

for RPO AD3 you will need part on 12-7 and 12-34 of the P-Parts book:

Fiero Roof Panel with opening
Weather Seal #20528472
Glass panel with hardware #20326111 (I recommend getting a hardware rebuild kit form the Fiero Store for $40 - it's worth it)
Sunroof latch escutcheon and single black philips screw #20680159 (Screw is M4.2x1.41x20)
Plastic spacer and button receiver, retainer, and bushing #20510001, #20449748, #20310513, #20586100
Headliner rubber welting #20525012 (grey)
Wind deflector #20448443
Rubber retainers for the front trunk #20379691
Plastic cover for front trunk with 3 mount screws #20680013
Headliner (and new headliner material and spray adhesive)
sunshade and bag (optional)

Thank you for that very detailed information. Where would I get these parts besides a junk yard? I'm sure that they have all been discontinued.
