Clutch system not working (Page 1/1)

So I’m having a problem with my clutch system. I was driving and suddenly my clutch pedal felt weird so I pulled over. I can only press the clutch in about half way then it feels like something is stopping me. I have a brand new clutch in it with only about 4,000 miles on it. The slave cylinder is Rodney’s with the double sealed piston installed same time as the new clutch. I disconnected my pedal from the banjo and the pedal goes down all the way so I know it’s not the pedal and yes it’s a steel one. I thought maybe my master cylinder was bad so I just put on the Rodney Dickman one today then bled the system. Same problem is happening though. I can only press the pedal half way and only getting 1/2 inch of travel on my slave cylinder. I don’t know what the issue is

Hey Conrad, strange problem. You could try loosening off the slave cylinder nuts and pull it back a half inch then see if the pedal goes down. If it does then you have to look at the clutch fork operation, maybe the throw-out bearing is binding on the sleeve or you got a defective clutch pressure plate that is binding. Just some ideas to think about. I'm sure the guys here will come up with some things for you to try as well. Good luck!
