CAR SHAKES LIKE HELL, put the rear end up in the air and on jack stands with the control arms
( where they would be if the tires were on and on the ground). removed the tires and put the lug nuts on to keep the rotors in place. started the car, put in gear, idles perfect(no Shake) with brake on. as soon as i let off the brake and the axle are turning, the can actually see the pass side rear almost bounce ! NO wheels or tires on it ! only leaves 1 thing, right? you can almost SEE the axle jumping at the joint closer to the trans. NOT the trans bearing. whatdoyathink ??? LOL

got a video of the axle wobbling with no wheels on the car.,can't seem to download it off the phone though. trans and axle seals are now leaking. IF this axle was actually TOO LONG when installed, wouldn't the axle Shaft that enters the Transmission be pushing on the pinion shaft(for the spider gears) inside the trans also ?? (Note: this is Not my Car and I did not build it). LOL

The inner tripot spider has slipped out of the tripot. Disassemble and reinsert, check your axle length. Has the car been in the air with the suspension hanging and the wheels rotating?

no, any time the wheels were off when it was here this time, the control arms were supported under the ball joint to be at riding height. I remember 1 time about 6 months ago the car was up in the air, not running, axles hanging, and the pass side would not even turn by hand until the control arm was lifted to proper height. but the car has traveled well 800 miles AFTER that.

"Disassemble and reinsert, check your axle length" this is not "my axle" to take apart and re arrange. This is between the owner of the car and the guy he "bought the axle from". thanks for the advice though.

My bearing on my axle” spider gear bearing pegs” were all over the boot....my car would shake...when going over 30mph....turned out the passenger axle was 1/2 inch too small.
Check your front ball joints....jack up the front of the car....if there play in your wheels....your ballpoint or bearing is shot. Never drive around with a damaged ball joint....it can cause injuries if it snaps.

front ball joints were just replaced along with bearings and races. the shaking is in the rear, the front is on the ground. the car is up on blocks not "MOVING"

Thing is: the AXLE, car "Not Running", up in the air, supported under the Ball Joints, Does NOT "FEEL" loose. when running "IN DRIVE", it will shake the ENTIRE CAR at about 10 mph.(Actually bounce you in the seat) absolutely NO SHAKE or vibration If the Axle is Not Spinning. I am going to remove the "brake calipers" and try it again.
