customers car, has baretta front brakes. now it needs new "wheel bearings", but the old" INNER" bearings HAVE NO NUMBER ON THEM ! Can anyone tell me what bearing to ask for ? the hub is separate from the rotor, like an 88 and unlike a 84-87 Fiero. Thanks

Beretta/GA front and most others has mod'ed Fiero hub/rotor that cut off the rotor. So should be a Fiero Bearing. See my Cave, Brake Upgrade wheel bearing torque specs are cover in my Cave, Front Bearings
PM sent.

Like Ogre said, it should be a modified stock hub. So it should use stock replacement wheel bearings.

ok, it IS a modified stock HUB. Looks like a real fine way to make everything" spinning" OUT OF BALANCE. If you have access to a tire store that can Balance your front wheels/tires "ON THE CAR", that would be the thing to do, because it would take into consideration the rotor and hub. Thanks for the input

That's interesting.....I had a previous Fiero that had that same mod. and it definitely was a recipe for that problem. We had a rhythmic "walking" in the front end that was driving me nuts. It wasn't huge but the rest of the car was just performing so well (3800 SC conversion) that it spoiled the ride. I did end up taking it to one of oldest alignment/ tire shops in the area which was still set up with the Hunter strobe balancing systems for "on car" balancing. Guy put a sensor thing on the wheels and brought up the big tire spinner motor and said, "What speed do you notice it most at?" I said cruising at 70 to 80. He then brought it up to 70 and you could see the movement in the front end. He then proceeded to take it up to 100 and then the entire nose was throbbing up and down in a rhythm. He pulled the motor back, let it run down, and put a few trial weights on.....ran it up 70....nothing....ran it on up to 100, just a slight vibration, added just a little more weight and nothing at any speed. Just remember, though.....although it solves the problem as soon as you move/rotate anything involved you are back to square one.......

Yes, I had experienced a bit of unbalance as well with my Grand Am "floating" discs both front and back. My thoughts are to dial gauge the disc to center it well. Then drill, countersink and tap (the hub) just like most modern cars. A small M6 countersunk machine screw will keep the disc in place and centered each time the wheel is off. Regards, Rafe

When turning the hubs, you must chuck the rotor internally on the land for the bearing race. If chucked externally, the hub may not be concentric with the rotational axis and be out of balance.

Tiny bit off center of rotor and rim that you may not see, may have a hand time measuring too, but the car will know and have problems.
Yes, Hubs can be machined wrong like how you mount to part off the rotor section. But Hubs can be machined "perfect" yet rotor and wheel can get off center and make problems.
Balancing tire on car often doesn't help here or not for long because 2 main issues... next time you hit a bad hole/RR x'ing/etc or you have to remove the tire for any reason the balance is out again. Often way worse. many have rims are off center for several reason and balance doesn't matter then.
"lug centric" wheels have special rules to follow and even when followed is often not as good a hub centric mounting. Example: Many aftermarket rims work best w/ factory setups w/ hub rings but this and some other Fiero "Brake upgrades" can't use them for the rim. Most don't even try to get/make rings for the rotor.
