I am in need of help . I have an 84 SE auto that was running fine . I was washing it to got to a local block party and when I went to start it the ignition system was dead , no power at all . Everything that works directly off the battery is ok . I checked through the archives and noticed the fusible links on 84's is a common problem , but the previous owner already relocated them and they checked out as ok. I don't know where to check next . Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated as I am off this weekend and have time to get it fixed .

Failed F Link A to the starter will kill power to most of the car. See my Cave, Wire Service and Fuse Links notes some links are in different locations for 84 but list is same.------------------ Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should. There are two way power is sent from the engine compartment to the body. One is Fusible link A. It's a Red wire that runs from the ring terminal on the starter, to the fusible link, to E4 of C500 and then to the fuse box. The other is Fusible link B which powers the headlights. That runs to A5 of C500 and is a Red/White wire.
I would check C500 pin E4. There is quite a bit of power going through there and I have seen them overheat.
If bad you could replace it, but for most Fiero owners it makes more sense to just run the wire around C500 and solder it.
I have new terminals (pins) and new engine plug connector Iplastic) for C500 if yours is all melted and you wish to purchase new ones.
