reddevilriver.com is pff member and has a few versions and cheap.
OBD1 should save all codes even w/ engine off unless you reset the ECM or ECM has problems or crap reset wire in engine bay. Capture data may not tell you anything w/o knowing what is normal etc. See my Cave, Scan Tool Help and others. Scan for codes before shutdown might help or not.
Note: Scanning causes issues itself like higher idle because ECM does not like "multitasking" trying to run the car and stream data to read.

I've used the Bluetooth OBD1 from RedDevil, and although it is a little glitchy at times, it did the job for me. I was able to use it real time while driving to read the BLM and INT numbers to get my Fuel Injection properly programmed on my El Camino project. Works well with an Android phone ( or in my case an Android Radio) and ALDLdroid app. Just expect some disconnects.
You can also use an OBD1 cable connected to a laptop, and use TunerPro RT software to do the same thing. Pre-made cables are available from Reddevil, or online. ------------------ '87 GT , '00 3800 Series II SC, 4t65e, Vue Power Steering. (SOLD)

That doesn't have the cartridge for the GM cars 1984-1990. . Probably won't scan . Try to find an Actron CP-9110 scan Tool with the 1984-1990 GM cartridge. This is the scan tool that we use.

I have the OTC 2000 scanner mentioned above. It's definitely dated, but works fine with the stock Fiero ECMs (including the 87-88 Duke). I'm actually thinking of selling it, because I don't have any use for it anymore.
