3800 II sc Muncie 4 speed stalling (Page 1/1)

Drove the car with the new engine for the first time this weekend. Everything seemed ok besides needing some shift linkage adjustment and the car wants to stall when i push in the clutch when coming to a stop. From what I understand this happens because the ECU still thinks it is an auto trans and doesn't open the IAC valve up quick enough when i press the clutch because the load wouldn't be taken off the engine so suddenly on the auto. Have heard of people using a switch to tell the ecu its in neutral when the clutch is pushed in or some people able to fix it with increasing the idle RPM but not a lot of info out there. Am I on the right track and what is the easiest/ most effective way to fix this?

I had this issue with a different setup, but similar behavior. Mine was a V8 with TBI from a Auto trans car. I had to send the chip in and had EGR and Auto Trans parameters adjusted for my setup.

Stopped stalling after that.

I do have the ECU unlocked and access to HPTuners so would be great if I could fix it through software like yours was instead of hardware if anyone has suggestions. Might just take some tweaking and testing.
