Questions about RCC front coilovers ‘88 (Page 1/1)

Hi guys.I need some input please. My 1988 GT t-top. I just redid all of the suspension, steering rack, and added Guru’s rear lateral kit. The fronts are RCC coilovers with the QA1 12 way shocks and the rears are WCF coilovers (kinda wierd but works). My question is about the front set up. It’s the lower control arm. First thing I noticed is no bump stops anywhere. Secondly, I see no steering stops anywhere. That particular issue bugs me big time. At near full turn the calipers hit the lower control arm and the brake line gets hecka stretched, it’s overtraveling, seems scary. Since I rebuilt my own rack, I see that there are no positive stops on that also until it runs out of tooth contact. Am I overthinking it???.... doesn’t seem right to me at all. Thanks for any input.

There are no steering stops on the 88 front suspension, even with the stock setup. The inner tierod bodies provide the positive stop lock to lock.

You do need some type of bump stop to protect the shock. Given these arms were designed a long time ago and the available shocks have changed, the bump stop likely has been overlooked. They sell some that fit on the shock shaft that don't need any additional brackets.
