So I went and installed my front mount battery box tonight, and was able to get it to fit pretty snug. Took some extra grinding and cutting to get it to work, plus pushing the brake lines out of the way and cutting out the brackets that held them in place. But it's in, and I knew all of that was probably going to happen going in. I can get the spare tire over the battery by lifting the battery up a bit, dropping the tire below the plastic tub lip, and then setting them both down. Once in place, though, the tire slightly sets on top of the battery. Is this really an issue? I can get the hold down rod in and everything, so I doubt its a problem, but just want to see if anyone else has had the same thing happen.

A thick piece of foam between the battery and the spare tire may help.

I would definitely do the foam between the two. Just to make sure it doesn't rub while driving.

I like the idea guys, thanks! Thinking I may just double sided tape the foam to the inside of the tire, that way I can drop it all in as one unit.

Make sure it's closed-cell foam, so it doesn't attract water. A mouse pad would probably work in a pinch.
