Side mirrors restoration... (Page 1/1) usa1 APR 23, 05:26 PM I purchased a 1987 Fiero GT and the side mirrors are a bit faded and flat in color. They do not appear painted. What is the recommended technique to restore them so they look better? Thank you. Mark Gall757 APR 23, 06:07 PM Welcome to the Forum! The mirrors housings are painted die cast metal. They were semi-gloss black. You can smooth them out with 320 sandpaper and spray them with Krylon 'satin black' or something similar that is not glossy or flat. I did this years ago without using any primer and they still look good . Threedog APR 24, 02:24 PM Ditto to what was already said.
