Upgrade order (Page 2/2)

If you want to stick to the 2.8, look at this site for info on stoker kits, cams, etc. Like others have said, not much to gain on the 2.8, no matter what you do.

As for order, safety first! Brakes, suspension. The Big Brake upgrade, along with the larger booster is well worth doing. Brings the brakes up to newer car standards. If replacing the suspension bushings, Poly seems to be a preferred way to go. A little firmer ride, but probably no degradation in the future. Shocks and struts as needed. Do research if changing them to determine brand that suits your style.

Once these are done, any mods you make to HP are already accounted for in the car, so no re-tracing of steps already performed. If going to a bigger engine, cooling and fuel pump might be next targets. Again, get everything ready so the engine swap is just one project, not several. If considering an engine swap, don't change your exhaust on the 2.8. Most of it will not transfer over unless you stick with 2.8 /3.1/3.4 block.

Consider it all a fun project. If you don't have the time, skills or facilities, consider finding one that is already done. Probably cheaper in the long run too!
