I didn't mean that the towing was weird, I meant the way the decklid broke was weird. I towed it the same way (with the back-end on the tow dolly). But the people who designed the car likely didn't expect the car to be going backwards at 50+ miles an hour and for the decklid to flip backwards, haha. The rear glass looks like it had been replaced too at one point, and both latch retaining straps were broken... so it was probably a pretty spectacular situation. The top of the decklid though had no cracks in it whatsoever...[This message has been edited by 82-T/A [At Work] (edited 11-25-2024).]

Thanks! It's not "perfect" when you look at it in certain lighting, but when installed with the brackets on, you can't tell at all that it's been worked on, which was ideal. Very happy with how the paint came out too... the Marhyde stuff that IMSA recommended was awesome.

I'll keep the Marhyde in mind, because I'd like to put paint on mine eventually.

It really is fantastic... I can't say that enough. I am SO impressed with how it came out. I'll have to take a better picture this weekend because the one I posted above is crap and doesn't really show.
I bought my 87 Fiero back in 1996, and the car had like... I think 40k miles on it? This is exactly how it looked back then too. The under hood and under decklid really takes a beating over the years, and this made it perfect.
Keep in mind, you'll have to strip off all the stickers. I bought a complete set for both cars from John WPB... and they are fantastic.
My daughter went over everything with a scrubbing pad first... and then she wiped down the entire thing with Paint "Pre-Spray" ... which, I will never go back to not using that. That stuff is fantastic... it gets rid of anything and everything on a painted surface, making it perfect for new paint adhesion.
I bought basically a case of that stuff... which is way more than I needed... but now I have enough to do the under-hood of the Corvette, and my own Fiero when I eventually get it out of storage.
