Yep exactly this, Wisdom to take to heart. Understand what you have, that that to heart. Create the first failure point, Tires specifically are the cheapest and easiest to replace. You can still have hella fun on a tire that fails first,

I don’t know why you think BFG Radial T/As are so horrible, but they don’t have much traction and act as the fuse you describe.
It has predictable low traction, no wheelhop, no sudden scariness in the rain.
Main weak point I think is rapid wear.
