Loosen the two bolts on the NSS, have someone hold the key in the START position, and rotate the NSS slightly until the starter kicks. The NSS will allow the START signal in PARK and NEUTRAL only.
Once you find that spot, put the shifter in REVERSE, key in the ON position, and check that the backup lights are on.
If everything works as it should, tighten the two bolts to secure the NSS in position.

Frig. I did a bunch of adjustments on the steering column Ignition switch and the NSS. At one point I got the starter to engage a couple times while fiddling with the shifter but I couldn’t get it in the right spot. Well I know it’s probably the nss adjustment or it’s bad. And now I k ow my starter needs adjustment as well as it’s just spinning and not cranking. I’ll leave it for another day now.
