Have a Muncie 4spd in my 85 SE 3800 Swap.

Trying to get it to pass inspection. Recently changed the trans gear lube to Driven Synchromesh.

Stiff shifting so replaced both cables with ones from Rodney.

I am surprised that no one mentioned using a Getrag out of a early 90's Beretta or a Corsica with the V6 and a 5 speed Trans ( must be the V6 engine only). You just need to get the shift linkage converter and trans mounts from Rodney. The are very strong. I have one in both the 4.9 and the 3.4 DOHC that I have.

I thought about doing that as well but I’m trying to do this 3800 swap on budget and with less modded aftermarket parts. I’m just going to stick it out with the 4 speed I don’t mind the 4 speed at all actually. I just need to replace my tach I guess before doing the swap.

Forum member JGunsett may be able to fix your tach.
