Does your V6 do this... (Page 3/3)

Remember. That is not a perfect test. But it should be good to check most TPS. The at idle TPS readings can be different on different cars. The 1/2 volt is just a base line. You can almost bet that if you see, let's say 1.5 volts at idle position there is a problem.

A while back I did try to help more people. Then some would flame me for not having exact details or crucify my wording. Then there were others that I had spent a lot of time helping and then wouldn't even give a response if the information helped. It was getting to be like being in a room full of lawyers. So now I limit my responses to those that it looks like I can help the most. There are plenty here that have more specific info than I can give. I will also delay my responses to see if someone gave better help. If I can help and there was little to no other responses, I will chime in if I have good info.

Well I really appreciate it. I understand your hesitation... I was blasted on another forum that I frequent for agreeing with someone who stated that the 4WD system in our trucks doesn't work very well in the snow. They tore into me like you wouldn't believe, defending their vehicles. I'm very selective now with comments or experience I share on that site.

What I love about this Fiero forum is that in my experience, members are usually friendy and willing to assist. Even tho their suggestions may not always solve the issue, I always appreciate when someone will take the time to try and help.

I gave my TPS to a co-worker who has a really good multimeter. He's going to bench test it tonight, tomorrow or saturday I will check it on the vehicle.

Well, TPS checked out ok. Looks like i'll need to find a local shop with a scope.

Yeah, that's my pet peeve. It really irks me when someone comes on here and asks all kinds of questions... and then never bothers to acknowledge the responses, let alone post a thank-you.

However, most members here are definitely appreciative of being helped... and that includes me when I'm looking for advice and/or feedback.

You are most likely going to need something that you can take with you and someone can watch while you are getting it to happen.
Sorry to get your hopes up with the TPS. But if you learned that's a plus.

I learned, and appreciate the lesson! Thanks again! I was hoping for something simple. oh well. Never a dull moment with a Fiero.
