Fun with fiberglass.
So, I picked up a fiberglass cowl hood off Craigslist for cheap recently.

as you can see it has a slight problem, the po had cut a big hole in it for a 6-71 blower he was running...

My fix was to do a quick splash off the old hood, if you look closely you can see some of the hail damage it got last spring...

Here I have it dry fit in place need to grind and glass..
looking forward to a good 2018, Joe

Frankenstine got some attention today, cut a coil up front and did a test fit of the C6 wheels using a combination of thinner spacers to find what I need to have made up...

Coming soon, round three of front suspension mods, (or maybe it's more like 2.5 ) This will be about some fine tuning. I have a new set of Moog 5664 springs that will get a half coil off The last set got a full coil in round 2) and a set of proforged 1/2" taller lower ball joints, as well as a set of Russell button head banjo bolts to take care of a clearance issue that came up with the LS brakes I did during round 1
IMG_20180503_172453676 by Joseph Martin, on Flickr This should set the front just a small fraction of an inch higher than it landed in round 2 and give me back some suspension travel, it rode decent after lowering, but I'm greedy and want it to ride as good as it can at a given height....

Thanks guys, I'm planning on doing the work tomorrow, The Golden super cruise is tomorrow afternoon/evening, I'd like to make it, it will be the first time out with the Vette wheels... I have big plans for the engine and rear end/suspension this winter.

I got a head start on the work yesterday, Lower a arms and springs are out, stock (6 month old) lower ball joints pressed out, need to press in the Proforged 1/2" taller joints and put it back together with the new springs (cut 1/2 coil). Hope to be done in time for the cruise...

Thanks, it'll never be "fully completed", It will continue to evolve, once I get my '88 coupe out of the shop it'll go in for some major drive train upgrades, engine, rear axle and rear suspension.
I actually like the truck being a little "rough around the edges", let's me drive it in the real world without worrying about "scuffing" it up...
