Look into the General RT43 or 45....Good tire, lighter and much less expensive. |

Damn. I ordered the T/As. These are going on the black Formula 3.4 which is an auto and kind of a beast compared to my 88GT. I run KYBs and there's some poly in the suspension so it's rough right out of the box and is expected. I'm sure it will work out. But I'll keep these recommendations for the Red Formula (to be built for handling) and the Yellow Formula, planned for a complete rebuild and 4.9 swap.

quote | I just talked to a guy at the TireRack, and he stated that the reason that General AltiMax RT45 tires do not show up on a Fiero Tire search is because the REAR size is not >>"H"<< rated.. |
|
This seems to be accurate - I could only find 215/60-15 with a "T" rating. BUT-
The General AltiMax RT45 is available with an "H" rating in 225/60-15. I bought mine a couple of years ago, but Discount Tire still lists them. Not listed as a stock size for our cars, of course, but very close in diameter and just a bit wider.

When I had 15" lace wheels on my Fieros, I always ran 215/60/15 front and 225/60/15 rear.
A little taller, a little wider, filled the wheel wells a bit more and handled better.

I think the tires look good on the car...

It drove real nice, and cornered well.

Looks nice, use some dish soap and something to scrub the blue off the white letters, the bf Goodrich blue is thick and won't come off by itself, and after a few years of sun and wear look really bad, the white underneath is actual rubber in the tire, so don't be worried of scrubbing the white "off". I use Maguire's ultimate liquid wax on my tires, it is rubber safe, and keeps the tires clean (a simple hosing off cleans almost anything) and a nice deep black/clear white letters, not the dripping wet look from specific tire polishes, but it makes it look really nice.

All of this will be helpful when I do the next two Forumulas, including one with a planned 4.;9, so nothing will go to waste!

I read about the blue thing, and asked the tire guy about it. I think he said "soap and water" but I'll give your idea a try, thanks.

Yeah, soap and water to get the blue off, Maguire's wax to make the tire look great and keep it clean as you drive.
