It's also critical when replacing the IAC, that the air passage it controls is also completely free of crud.

Thanks. I do recall the last IAC I put in got tight while I was threading it in before it was actually seated in the throttle body. It probably bottomed out but I didn’t know it could be adjusted. I’ll make sure to check that next time

If it bottomed out before the assembly was seated, you've probably damaged it and it would need replaced.

Yeah I’ll definitely replace it.
Right now I’m dealing with a poor connection somewhere between the battery and starter motor. I gotta fix it before I can move on with the idle issue
