I have an ill wife that can’t be left alone so I don’t have the time to take it for a run.

9v thing above is only for switch a battery. Don't expect to save data, clock, etc more then a few hours to a day.
ECM "Reset" just is ECM has to reset the IAC to see good idle when start the car etc. Means drive > 35mph or 87+ 4 cyl have to push gas pedal to see RPM above 2000-2500 for a few sec's.
You lose radio preset, ECM "codes," etc too for dead or disconnect battery.
Is a pain to set Radio Clock etc but won't hurt anything pulling the battery.
If battery is "just low" because can't drive... Charge it w/ 6-10amp charger should reach ~ 13v when full charge. Then see stays 12.6-13 for next few hours or overnight.
If drops in 11v or even lower then battery is bad or have something pulling power.
If stay charge > 12.5 after a day or three... can get Battery Tender charge < 2a then claim shuts off when battery is full. Unlike most "Trickle charged" that try to charge 24/7. Even then I don't leave it on for weeks, more so if park outside because shock, theft & tripping risks. For shock plug into GFCI on "house" end even when have new perfect cord.
If Battery Tender never light Green after a day or two... Something sucking power or battery is "bad."
Note: Most "Smart chargers" do not charge batteries < ~ 10v to 11v because can be huge safety problem. Is Avoiding "Boiling" the battery when have Dead Cell or other problems.
