Agreed. I actually read that before posting, but I was convinced it was fuel related. Then last night I thought, "What the heck". And there it was arcing.
I changed the coil out and all is good. It is still strange to me that it ran OK at RPMs higher than 3,000 and only missed at lower RPMs under load. I will have to log that one in.

Many times a misfire will be more noticeable under a load because the ignition energy is lost to ground. Voltage increases under load and with that, it can arc. One hack for detecting arcing is to spritz the ignition system with water from a trigger sprayer bottle. It will often detect early problems.
