One other quick item, you may need to adjust the tension on your torsion springs due to the decklid being lighter. Or just be careful when opening the decklid so it doesn't fly out of your hand.

Definitely adjust the tension. There are some good posts on that (and take extra care not to crack your back window.)\

I got lucky when I found my wingless decklid in the junkyard but that was 20 years ago now. It was even the right color. But they've only gotten scarcer and scarcer with each passing year. (my car was built without a wing but a PO had added an aftermarket one, which was in poor shape and needed to go!)

I’m in central Alabama so I used to be able to get items from Ed at Fiero factory…..but that was years back. And I think they’ve moved shop to Colorado.

Mike Valentine, the person who owns the Fiero part of TFF is in Colorado, but the inventory is still in Alabama last I heard. Within the last year.

Sometimes it doesn't take many times for the decklid to fly up unrestricted for it to crack at the corners of the engine vent openings. Definitely relax the tension on the torsion springs.

Worth mentioning... the way to remove the torsion bars is sooo incredibly easy, but until you've done it once and understand how to do it... it seems crazy impossible.

I felt like such an idiot after I removed one side the hard way (doing all kinds of crazy stuff), only to realize all you need to do is push back on the squared loop on the bottom, which allows you to remove the pin, and then it just comes out super easy...

huge face-palm.
