If your new pulley has a different number of ribs, I would suggest changing pulleys to the correct one. If you can't locate one, let me know. I have a few alternators that I can't get any rebuilder to buy at $10 each. Might as well part them out.
What is the diameter of the pulley fan? All my alternators are the early style.

Unfortunately I have it all buttoned up with the 6 groove pulley already and everything seem kosher. I just made sure it is running on the inside 5 grooves and seems to be ok..Thank you anyways. hopefully I put this issue to bed for awhile..
