The cheapest available part? incorrect Axle nut torque? Raise the offending wheel, grab it at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock and lever the living hell out of it, if you feel anything, it's likely toast., Me I might even remove that rear wheel bearing / hub and see if it has any free play.

It is always the same corner, yes. I will pull it apart this weekend, hopefully and see what is going on.

I got to pull the wheel off again and look at this closer today. I started with the caliper , and immediately found the problem. The two torx headed caliper bolts were somehow too long, and when fully tightened, stuck out of the spindle and into the brake disk. This was causing the grinding noise from that wheel. Not sure how this was possible, but I ended up using correct size washers that allowed prober clearance.

Even more weird, the top of the drivers side rear caliper was stamped with RH. Very weird to me.

You do have rear calipers on the back, do you? You have a parking brake? Is the bleeder located at the top or on the bottom of the caliper?

To be honest, I don’t know. The parking brake is attached and working, just couldn’t figure out why is is stamped RH. I know the previous owner had the rear calipers installed not long before I got the car.

Maybe RH are previous owner's initials.

Here is a picture of the caliper…

I've had that problem...just pull the dust shield away from where it's making contact.

Problem ended up being the caliper slide bolts were too long, threading through the hub and hitting the rotor. I opted to add washers to the to shim them back, problem solved!
