the PCM's are not a direct interchange with a 3800 F body, but they share a ton in common, if you tuner mimics the transmission settings of a 3800 5 speed camaro or firebird, many of your issues will probably go away, but he needs to have access to a bin editor that can access all of the parameters, HPT cannot access all of them. ------------------ "I am not what you so glibly call to be a civilized man. I have broken with society for reasons which I alone am able to appreciate. I am therefore not subject to it's stupid laws, and I ask you to never allude to them in my presence again."
I invited Lou Dias to trash me in my own thread, he refused. sorry. if he trashes your thread going after me. I tried.

Is this a supercharged or naturally aspirated 3800, op? I forgot to ask.
Also, how did you come to the conclusion all the timing was being pulled out of it? Is scan data showing that?
When you encounter this power loss above 3/4 throttle, does the engine just stop pulling (won't rev anymore) or is it actually cutting off like you turned the key off?

Supercharged, out of an 04 monte carlo. Scan tool showed during one of these incidents timing going from normal advance to -37, it doesn't rev anymore and it loses all power. So much so that you can feel yourself move forward in the seat like you were braking

have your tuner set all of the rev limiters to the same value. ------------------ "I am not what you so glibly call to be a civilized man. I have him sending me a new pcm right now, hopefully arriving soon. What's weird though is that sometimes I'm able to rev all the way out floored. Rarely, but it can happen

Interesting. I don't think it is a rev limit setting issue because you would encounter the limiter at the same RPM regardless of throttle position.
What is the KR (knock retard) parameter in the scan data showing when you see -37 deg of spark advance?

I'll have to borrow the nice scan tool from work to see that. My phone scan tool doesn't let me see KR for some reason. I didn't think KR was able to take that much timing out though
