Disconnect the negative cable from the battery
Disconnect the Generator/Alternator harness connectors
Option: Remove the spark wires on #1, #3 and #5 plugs
Remove the Generator/Alternator Heat Shield from the exhaust manifold
Loosen the top Generator/Alternator bolt

Block the front wheels, raise the rear and secure it with jack stands
Remove the rear wheel (passenger side)

Under the Car
Remove the harness bracket from the engine block (to get room)
Remove the bottom Generator/Alternator bolt
Remove the belt

On Top
Remove the top Generator/Alternator bolt and carefully lower it on the bottom

Under the Car
Remove the Generator/Alternator from between the engine and the frame

This is mostly accurate. Ignore the "Remove the harness bracket from the engine block (to get room)" step as no brackets need to be removed. Also if OP has a manual this is correct about lowering between the engine and the axle. If he has an automatic, it needs to be snaked through the tri link suspension. I have both a manual and an auto 88 so can speak with authority on this. Early year auto's need to come out the top due to them having different suspension that makes removing out the bottom impossible without removing control arms or other major disassembly.

Guys, I bought a new AC Delco 88V6 alternator for my 88GT bak in 2016.

I suggest when buying from RockAuto, Alt, Starter, or anything electrical to buy new.
Why buy a rebuild Alt or starter when your charged for the core upfront and need to
spend money to get your core credit back? Unless I don't know about the core policy
from RockAuto or its free, never heard of it.

For almost the same price or even if its 30-40$ for a new AC Delco part, its still cheaper
than buying a new part from GM. Big difference.

I trust more a 100% new part, than rebuilt for the difference in price.

I haven't had any issue with that made in Mexico AC Delco unit either.

But, I'll be honest...since then I have probably 3000 miles on the car.

I'll re-post my response to you when you brought this up a month ago.

With their core charge for that alternator being $5... yes, only $5... it wasn't worthwhile worrying about it. The alternator was shipped across the border and delivered to my door in a matter of days for a grand total of just $85.49(USD). A very good deal, I felt... and still do!
