I am starting to get the picture . If I understand you the coolant sensor on my engine next to the thermostat housing , in my situation serves absolutely nothing. I guess I should just remove the green wire with white stripe .The black wire should be put back on the AC compressor mounting bolt. Is this what you are telling me to do? You have been extremely helpful and I certainly appreciate it, thanks.

From my limited experience with AC repairs, you don't want to charge a system unless the outside temperature is over 65~70deg F. This is February and depending on where you are it may not be feasible. Hope your doing this in heated garage.

The temperature switch next to the thermostat housing is essential for normal coolant fan operation. Without it the coolant fan won't come on as the coolant heats up with the A/C off. The coolant temperature switch and the A/C pressure switch that closes at 280 psig are connected in parallel . The green/white comes from the downstream side of the coil of the coolant fan relay and splits and goes to both places. If either of these switches close that creates a path to ground which causes the coolant fan relay to energize. The green/white wire has to be connected to the temperature switch. It can be left unconnected from the pressure switch.
Put the black wire on the compressor mounting bolt.
