Old style plug is careful straight pull. If outer plastic of plug shrinks or hard can be hard to remove. Is has a "bump" area to "lock" them sim to Coolant hose w/ bumps in case their clamps get loose.
"88" is standard Metripack w/ locking ear. The ears often break off over time like many MAP sensors but seal between sections often keeps them in unless something is pulling in the wires.

If it's a non AC car the sender will be screwed into the block right above the oil filter. It is first screwed into a small brass adapter which is then screwed into the block. In that case unplug the sender from its plug and you can unscrew the entire 'sender+adapter'
