And definitely get rod ends in the lateral links. That's a significant improvement in handling with zero change to NVH.

I agree with this. I replaced the lateral links with homemade rod end links. But I kept the stock trailing arms, with rubber bushings (like Raydar mentioned). IMO, it's the best of both worlds... precise handling with good ride comfort.

I really don't mind NVH as long as it isn't extreme. Of course that's quite subjective. Hard to have a useful conversation about what's too extreme. Either way, I'm sold on the lateral links - definitely on the to-do list.
