It seems that you have pinpointed the problem as no output signal from the PCM. If you were able to get a speedometer signal with the new PCM this tells me that you used editing software to turn off the VATS. If you have the software you really not need send the PC out for reprogramming. I run an early LS1 MAF, N* TB and high boost and was able to scan and make all the changes necessary for it to work right including the parameters that apply to the speedometer. ------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite. Was the 4K signal coming from C1 (blue) 55? |

That's where it should have been coming from, but nothing. Plugged the junkyard PCM in, and the speedo came to life.[This message has been edited by Stricken (edited 01-17-2021).]

No tuning at all. I pulled it from the junkyard car, drove home, and plugged it into mine. Started up, albeit unhappy and throwing codes. After searching around a lot, I found several references that GTPs do not have VATS turned on, and this is confirmation.

Good info. I run a 2003 GTP PCM and did have to turn off the VATS. Perhaps the earlier units didn't use the feature. Don't really know. May I suggest that you start a new thread and explain exactly what you are looking for in a tune? If you invest in good editor/scanner laptop software making changes is really not difficult. The scan will tell you exactly what you need to adjust and with the 3800 engines its pretty basic as the MAF table mainly controls the fueling. IMO trusting generic "mail order tunes" doesn't achieve the best result but many will disagree.------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite.
