I'm wondering if that's a way of saying that the light is about to change yellow? Like a crosswalk sign that starts to flash signaling the pedestrian to "hurry up"?

That light is at a crossing for a bike route (which in this case is also a side street). It's funny, but I've never taken much notice that the green lights at those crossings flash like that. I'll have to pay more attention next time to know for sure, but I believe the green lights at bike route crossings flash all the time (when lit), and not just when they're about to change.

Thanks for the help guys! I ended up with a relatively subtle approach in the license plate area.

I was a little more concerned because this backup camera doubles as a dash cam, so I wanted to make sure it could see everything behind me. I tested it and it worked pretty well!

For most license plate mounted cameras (using the upper screws) you typically find either a 130 or 170 degree field of view. I have used both on my vehicles but prefer the 170 degree one. Some have night vision capability as well so choose one that meets your needs.
