That shows it clearly. Thank you, Fierosound.

Really not sure why that would happen. But then I don't have seats all the way back to rear firewall.
Maybe the bolsters had been "built up" before recovering?

My 86 and 86 handle looks like Fierosound's Indy. Close to the rocker panel. Both have Mr. Mike's seat covers, BUT the 86 seats are wide enough that there's a little interference when setting the brake. The bolsters are overstuffed. There's no problem on the 87.

That brake lever is most definitely bent in towards the seat. The handle should be parallel to the floor trim beside it.
If you're concerned about the lever possibly being weakened by bending it back (although I suspect that's doubtful), another option might be to loosen mounting bolt #13, remove mounting bolt #12, install a washer or two between the base of the lever mechanism and the car, and then re-tighten both bolts. In theory, that should tilt the handle away from the seat... although I think that bending it back would be the simplest and most effective solution.

Good idea, Patrick. I think I want to at least see the bend for myself. If I need to I will try the washer. Thx.

Keep in mind the lever was never absolutely straight to begin with... but even with the original bend(s), the handle was designed to be parallel to the side trim (as you can see in fierosound's image).
