Replacing back brakes with front brakes (Page 2/2)

Doesn't 150 get you the whole set front to back? That is what I bought and I just replace pieces as needed. Still have not used the main line yet.

The first thing I do when I get a Fiero in the shop is put new S/S brake lines and braided hoses on it.
Best money one can spend on a 30+ year old car.

I've done the Fiero Store full stainless kit on one of our cars, and it was pretty simple.

I did self-bent copper/nickel lines on my other car, and it was a fair bit cheaper, even including buying the tools (considering exchange and shipping from FS). I also didn't want to wait for shipping. However, it took me a fair bit more time than just slapping pre-made lines on.

If I had the time, I'd probably go FS stainless.

Sections of rusted steel brake lines can be easily replaced. We keep a roll of it in the garage. Just bend it put fittings on the end and flare it. IMO the rear brakes on a Fiero are a problematic design. Everything has to be installed and set correctly for them to work and most often they provide little if any braking action, perhaps only supplemental parking braking on a hill but that's about it
As for putting front brake calipers on the rear, they will work but if you give up your hand brake and have to go though a state inspection you may not pass. In my state no inspection is required on cars with historic plates and removing the feature is illegal. Just check your states laws.
