Is a vacuum hose supposed to go here? What would it attach to? (Page 2/3)

Thanks so much for the pictures, I'm really new to Fieros and only have a bit of experience with working on cars in general.

Where is the location of the items in the pictures? Is that in the thermostat housing cap? Would the part in question be a part of the thermostat I replaced?

Thanks again for everyone helping me out, I was worried I wouldn't be able to keep my car running before I found this forum.

Well if you're new to cars in general the first thing you need to do is replace every rubber vacuum line in the engine bay. Don't replace the hard lines for the EGR and MAP unless you can tell they're cracked, try shining a flashlight into them to check. Use a knife to carefully cut the rubber lines off the charcoal canister, don't force them off or you'll snap the connections off. The single line going to the cruise should be unplugged and capped off(stick a bolt or something in the rubber line) for now as it's better to fix the necessary things first.

The pictures I posted are in the large circular air cleaner housing where you put the air filter. You undo the two 13mm nuts and take the lid off. This non-electric temperature 'sensor' for the valve you posted a picture of has nothing to do with coolant nor the thermostat you replaced.

I'll also point out the electrical sensor in that housing you placed the thermostat in is the ECM temperature sensor, not the one read by the gauge on your dashboard. This electric temperature sensor is a common part that needs replacing.

Is there a list somewhere of what vacuum lines there are and where they connect?

Is there any specific installation/removal procedures? From my (limited) understanding it's pretty straightforward.

And are the hoses Fiero-specific? Expensive? Different sizes?

I listed the vacuum lines, scroll up.
No special procedures, they're just rubber lines.
They're not special but there are different sizes. Take pictures of everything first and then take the hoses off, go to your auto parts store and tell them you need vacuum line. They'll have spools you buy the line by the foot off.

Thanks, must have glossed over that earlier. Printed it out now so tomorrow I can go over everything.

One last question I swear. If a vacuum line is straight-up missing what do I do to find the size? Just try to fit one of the other hoses to it and see which would fit?

Pull a hose off something else and see what fits it. It's likely the same size as the cruise control or smaller charcoal canister line. I can run out and check the size at some point.

Again take pictures before you take anything off.

Thanks, I'll give this a go tomorrow and let you know how it works out!

Really appreciate your time here.

The bolded part is somewhat of a red flag. The ECU (not you!) is supposed to be in total control of the idle speed. What exactly did you adjust?

I adjusted the Throttle Position Sensor when I installed it. Is that not something I should do? My Haynes manual was extremely lacking in instructions for that bit.
