I tried wiring up the switch the way you did and I doesn't work properly, so I'm not sure what the issue is. When left is selected the left mirror moves in one direction and if I move the arrow pad another way, the right mirror moves in one direction. When I move the arrow down for example, nothing happens and I get similar results when select the right mirror. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Evidently something was backwards in one of the manuals because I had to reverse right and left from the switch to the mirrors to get it all to work as expected.
