my name is mike, this is my FIRST FIERO, 88 white formula 2.8 auto rust free (i checked). i am having an issue to where i cant set it properly, aka i know the drill bit is a 3/32, and to stick it on hole when pushed down and bolts loose. but my knowledge ends there. it cranks when i jump it, so no issue there. i honestly just wanted to change it cause it was original, i am restoring it, sat for a little. i cant find any video and apparently my brain is blocking me from understanding the ****ing directions i guess?
i myself did all new pads, rotors, calipers, lines, fuel pump/filter, all new injectors, all new sensors, had to fix fuse box wiring with my eyes closed, and this has me so stumped lol :sigh: either way im having it towed to my buddys shop tomorrow for work i dont have time to do. if someone can help me a bit here and i can align it/install it correctly, i will soil myself. id prefer to drive it there! it runs like new 98k miles and shifts beautiful, already did trans service.
i already ****ed one up and drill bit kinda went all the way in THANK YOU TO ANYONE WHO HELPS!!!!!

Whats an NSS? Closest I can guess is "North Star ???". Am I getting close? Or something to do with Nitrous....

Check the Ogres cave. I know nothing about automatic cars. And do a search, pretty sure someone was asking about the nss about a year ago. ------------------ 86 GT built 2.2 ecotec turbo rear SLA suspension QA1 coilovers on tube arms

Lack of a functional NSS won't stop you. Just use a jumper if need be.
[EDIT] Oh hang on... I was thinking of a CSS.[This message has been edited by Patrick (edited 12-03-2019).]

I don't believe that there is a hole on the neutral safety switch but a slot and a notch on the rotating member where you align the shift arm to the switch. Should be pretty easy to do so welcome to the forum, the best resource for Fiero info around. While Fiero's are fun cars, they are at this point 30 + yr old classics or hobby cars. As such they will always need maintenance and repair. While they can be uses as such, IMO its a questionable choice for a daily driver. Assuming NSS is New or old one works right... See my Cave, Neutral Safety Switch
If needed, unclip shift cable at trans end to move lever on the trans to neutral. Many times the cable, shifter or both have problems making trans and/or NSS to have problems.
After done w/ NSS, Then adjust/fix shifter and cable. Note: Remove shifter section of console to make sure no crap is in or under the shifter. Fiero ash trays and other parts let a lot of crap in the shifter area.------------------ Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should. Note: I mean unclip the adjust chip on the shift cable. Not pull/pry the cable off the tran's lever. That can break the end.
or can try unbolt the lever on trans but then very hard to shift w/o damage to the "rod end."
